The Academy for Children, serving Fargo, ND and surrounding areas, is a Montessori school and childcare. It was established in 1987 and is currently offering infant, toddler, preschool and kindergarten.
Your child will enjoy our hands-on learning approach in small collaborative groups or on her own, with a teacher who guides her to her own answers and conclusions rather than lecturing from a textbook. Our methods are proven to improve the transition to traditional education systems with skills that will serve them throughout their entire lives.
At Academy for Children we believe in teaching not only the essentials such as mathematics, language, and science. Children benefit more from a classroom environment geared towards improving their sensory perception, which we help to develop in our curriculum. Your child will also benefit from learning practical life skills to help him develop independence, self-reliance and self discipline.
Our academy has five major goals to accomplish in your child's education: awakening your child's imagination; encouraging their desire for independence and self-confidence; learning kindness, courtesy, and self control to become a positive member of society; learning to observe, question and explore ideas; and helping your child to master social skills in a spirit of joyful learning.
