Engineering Department Manager Mid America Steel Duties: Supervise 8-9 person dept. which is responsible for producing structural steel, misc. metal & rebar fabrication shop drawings. Currently using SDS2, RebarCAD & AutoCAD Software. Monitor all jobs & workflow; work with subcontracted details to handle overflow work; communicate with customers & production dept.; review & interpret contract drawings & specifications as well as shop drawings; report directly to Vice President; other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Expertise in reading contract drawings & specifications. Specifically structural, architectural, mechanical and civil drawings & specifications; proficiency in SDS2 or Tekla, Autocad & Bluebean software is preferred; managerial exp. in steel fabrication is a plus; min. 2 year degree in drafting technology; BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering preferred; detail oriented, accurate thorough.
