BASIN ELECTRIC POWER COOPERATIVE DAKOTA GASIFICATION COMPANY A Toschtore Energy Coopenative Senior Vice President, Human Resources Basin Electric Power Cooperative, a member-owned G&T cooperative, is seeking can- didates for the position of Senior Vice President, Human Resources. Basin Electric, headquartered in Bismarck, ND, generates and transmits wholesale bulk electric power, primarily to 131 member rural electric systems located in nine states. Assets of $7.6 billion Consolidated annual gross revenue of $1.8 billion Member systems distributing electricity to approximately 3 million consumers Over 1700 employees Owns over 4200 megawatts and operates over 5000 megawatts winter generat- ing capability Maintains more than 2500 miles of transmission lines and infrastructure Basin Electric's largest subsidiary, Dakota Gasification Company, is a for-profit subsidiary that owns and operates the Great Plains Synfuels plant near Beulah, North Dakota The Sr. VP, Human Resources provides strategic HR leadership as well as ensuring Hu- man Resources related requirements are met. This position serves as a trusted internal advisor to the CEO and executive team. Functions within the Human Resources department include compensation and benefits, equal employment opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action, learning and development, recruitment and labor relations, payroll, cooperative safety, and medical services. Applicants for this position must have broad experience covering all aspects of human resources including strategic leadership, EEO and affirmative action, labor law, salary administration, recruitment, leadership development, benefit programs, union negoti- ations, payroll, and safety. The incumbent must also grasp the general business prob- lems facing the Cooperative and be able to develop human resources programs to meet these general business issues. Such skills are acquired through a four-year degree in a business or human resources related field and ten years of advanced human resources experience, including not less than five years in a human resources management role. Excellent oral and written communications skills, interpersonal skills and demonstrated skill in leadership, team building, and problem solving are required.
