CHIROPRACTIC CARE I am having sharp pain in the ball of my right foot when standing. The pain started after wearing high heels for about 8 hours at a wedding one week ago. I have been wearing flats and have iced a couple of times but the pain won't go away. Is there anything else I can do? A This type of pain is usually caused by injury to the nerves between the toes, or to the joints where the foot meets the toes. You have already done what you can by using a more comfortable shoe, so I would recommend an evaluation by a chiropractor for possible slight misalignments in one or more of the joints in the area. If your chiropractor feels this is not your problem, he/she will refer you to a podiatrist for further evaluation. Dr.Brook A.
